Lidl must withdraw tons of meat from Poland: It contains huge amounts of antibiotics! – Pluska.sk

Czech food inspectors ordered the Lidl chain to withdraw almost 17.5 tonnes of minced pork originating in Poland. They found in it the limit of antibiotics exceeded sixty times! People should not eat this meat and return it to the store.

The State Veterinary Administration (SVS) in the Czech Republic has ordered the withdrawal of minced pork from the market, which is sold in the Lidl chain. The laboratory examination revealed an above-limit content of the antibiotic amoxicillin in a meat cut from Poland. It may cause allergic reactions in some people.

“JRC inspectors took samples from the producer from a consignment of pigmeat imported from Poland. Subsequent examination showed a significantly above-limit content of amoxicillin in the sample. The detected value was 60 times higher than the limit, “ points out SVS spokesman Petr Vorlíček.

The meat was marked as Pork minced meat 20%, weight 1 kg, batch number: 207237 with an expiration date of October 10, 2021.

They immediately started investigating the case, but found that in the meantime the meat had been used for production. On October 3, all the quantities were shipped to the warehouses of the Lidl retail chain. The inspectors ordered the withdrawal of the product from the shops as well as its subsequent disposal.

“Consumers who have meat at home should definitely not eat it and can return it to the store where they bought it.” calls on the JRC.
