The fate of the BMW 2 Active Tourer was initially unclear. The MPVs are not on course, so it seemed that Munich would send him into the past. In the end, however, a compromise decision was reached. The practical minivan got a second chance, but got rid of the extended 7-seater version of the Gran Tourer. Maybe also because the competing Mercedes-Benz kept the B-Class in its offer. In addition, coming up with the second generation Active Tourer was not so difficult or expensive for the Munich carmaker. Like many of its Series 1 and 2 models (excluding the 2 Coupé), including the X1 and X2, the new Active Tourer uses the UKL’s priority front-wheel drive platform, along with the Mini. It is a “lego” on which virtually any model can be built – including compact MPVs.

Instead, it increased to a width of 24 and a height of 21 mm. Customers will have a choice of two non-metallic and nine metallic paints. In addition, BMW will offer two design packages – Luxury Line and M Sport. Their orientation is clear from the name. However, even more changes took place in the interior. The Active Tourer is the first BMW compact to be inspired by the revolutionary BMW iX electric car with ergonomics and infotainment. That’s why the dashboard carries a large curved display, made up of a pair of screens with a diagonal of 10.25 and 10.7 inches. The iDrive 8.0-based interface handles advanced features such as voice control and can include an intelligent personal assistant.
