Mazda confirms news for Europe: Two new large SUVs CX60, CX80 and Wankel! – Podkapotou.sk

Over the next two years, the new Mazda CX-60 and Mazda CX-80 will be launched in Europe

Mazda Motor Corporation today announced plans to expand its own series of SUVs starting in 2022. Two new models, the Mazda CX-60 and Mazda CX-80, from the company’s Large Product Group (CX60, CX70 CX80, CX90) will be in across Europe over the next two years.

To meet the growing needs in this segment, Mazda will offer European customers a more diverse range of SUVs combining state-of-the-art environmental performance with the driving pleasure that Mazda considers to be its hallmark.

At the same time, the new CX-70 and CX-90 models with a wider body and the CX-50 from the small platform group will be launched in the US and some non-European markets.

The new European models Mazda CX-60 and Mazda CX-80 will bring positive business growth in the medium to long term. By making maximum use of its own Building Block development and production strategy integrating Skyactiv technology, comprehensive planning and flexible production, Mazda will use new technologies to expand the Mazda SUV series.

Models CX-60 and CX-80 with two resp. three rows of seats will be at the forefront of the European premiere of plug-in hybrid models equipped with a combination of an in-line four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor. A new generation of the in-line six-cylinder Skyactiv-X petrol engine and the Skyactiv-D diesel engine will also be introduced in combination with the 48 V mild-hybrid system, which combines high performance and excellent environmental parameters.

In addition, a new version of the first mass-produced Mazda MX-30 electric vehicle containing several electrification technologies and using Mazda’s unique rotary (Wankel) motor as an electricity generator will be introduced in the first half of 2022.

Around 2025, the company will introduce several new products on a new platform for electric vehicles. With the launch of these models, Mazda will be on the right track to complete the electrification of its complete offering by 2030.

In addition to these new models, the recently refurbished Mazda CX-5 remains one of the leading models behind Mazda’s commercial success worldwide. The CX-5 and other models, such as the CX-30, will not lose a key position in the Mazda SUV crossover series. The cars will be further updated in terms of safety or design.

In the photo you can see a render of the model that will replace the current CX-9. The car will be named CX-90 and CX-80 according to the width and amount of interior space and body style. You will also find a facelifted CX-5 model in the gallery.

The Mazda CX-5 for 2022 will introduce the new Mazda (Mi-Drive) driving mode selection system. In addition, some model classes equipped with the i-Activ AWD system will take advantage of the off-road mode, which will make driving on unpaved and slippery road surfaces more natural.

The 2022 CX-5 uses the next generation of Mazda Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture, which changes body design while improving suspension, seats and sound insulation. The car has a new radiator grille, three new trim levels and a purely petrol engine offer. The car also offers a cordless phone charger in the center console. The adaptive cruise control with the CTS system has been updated, which helps to reduce driver fatigue by assisting in the use of the accelerator pedal, brake pedal and steering wheel in traffic jams. Adaptive LED lights with better light distribution are also improved.
