Windows 11 Home: it is possible to bypass the identification by Microsoft account – Generation NT

Microsoft does not waste an opportunity to force users to create an account on its own service. Windows 11 is thus a perfect opportunity to force the creation of Microsoft accounts with all those who would like to install the OS, because, obviously, users are asked to enter their account when installing the system, otherwise the process is ‘stopped.

The brand puts forward practical and security questions: linking your Windows 11 license to a Microsoft account makes it possible to benefit from a Cloud backup and to recover your license more easily in the event of a problem on the machine. The practice was already in place under Windows 10 and had not only made people happy.

With the Home version of Windows 11, the user necessarily needs to access the Internet during the installation. The offline installation and validation option is only accessible on the Pro version, so in theory it is not possible to escape the window that invites you to enter your Microsoft account.

However, a solution does exist and requires a bit of tinkering: you must first cut your connection to the Internet either by deactivating the WiFi or by removing the Ethernet cable, or by temporarily deactivating the network card of your machine.

Then the trick is to click Return during installation on the window that asks to sign in to a Microsoft account. The installation software will spot a problem and will then offer to connect with an offline account, then all you have to do is fill in the boxes.
