The crisis staff will deal with anti-ax campaigns, attacks on mobile vaccination teams and threats from epidemiologists. The Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský also spoke before the Central Crisis Staff, confirming that, in addition to the pandemic, the increasing attacks on medical staff will be addressed. The conditions of entry into the territory of Slovakia should not change.
The THIRD wave will probably be worse: The peak will come in a few weeks! It will take months to return to normal
Attacks on medical personnel will be addressed
“We are going to deal with the growing number of attacks on medical staff. There are too many of them and I think we should take a clearer stance.” said Lengvarský. He did not say specific proposals for a solution, he wants to communicate them with the Ministry of the Interior. In addition, they will address the prolongation of the coronavirus pandemic or vaccination with a third dose.
Anti-Vax campaigns and threats to epidemiologists
The crisis staff will deal with various proposals on how to deal with the situation and protect them. This was stated by the Minister of the Interior Roman Mikulec before the meeting. Measures have already been taken in the past to protect healthcare professionals. According to interim police president Petr Hamran, these measures will be strengthened. “We have an exact list of where the mobile centers are set up and we will increase patrols in these areas so that we can intervene adequately if necessary.” Hamran said.
The police are dealing with every case of attacks on epidemiologists, they are also trying to refute hoaxes. “If there is any liability, such as criminal law, then the law enforcement authorities continue.” claims Hamran. Lukáš Baňacký, a representative of the Association of Towns and Municipalities of Slovakia (ZMOS), also considers it necessary to increase the protection of people who help with vaccination and take care of anti-pandemic measures.
He points out that similar cases have already occurred in previous waves of the pandemic. “If someone is in a service in which they sacrifice in their own way, why should they be the target of people who are building some special popularity in such a perverse way? It is therefore up to the state and local governments to join forces and provide adequate protection.” he said.
The conditions of entry into the territory of the Slovak Republic should not change
Before the meeting of the Central Crisis Staff, Martin Klus, State Secretary of the Ministry of Diplomacy, stated that he had no information that the traffic light should change. “But we will cut so that we can inform people in time,” he said. “We are ready to inform members of the crisis staff what measures the neighboring or partner countries in the EU are taking,” stated.
At the moment, traveling to the Czech Republic and Norway for the unvaccinated is more complicated. According to Klus, changes should not occur when entering Slovakia. “At the end of June, when we introduced the rules, we said that they should be sustainable in the long run. So I do not envisage any major changes. I believe that the situation will allow us to maintain the maximum possible degree of freedom, especially for vaccinated people,” he added.
