WATFORD – For more than a year now, the initial kick-off in Premier League matches has been preceded by a kneeling expression in response to the Black Lives Matter movement, which aims to raise awareness of racism against the black community.

Most footballers with a “fall to the knee” have no problem, but there are also those who do not participate in this action. One of them is the Slovak midfielder Juraj Kucka, who did not kneel with his Watford teammate Emmanuel Dennis before the weekend meeting between Watford and Leeds United.

It began to be speculated on social networks why the thirty-four-year-old native of Bojnice remained on his feet. Juraj Kucka brought an explanation on his Instagram.

“I am fundamentally against RACISM in the world !!! I did not kneel in the last match because I respect everyone equally and I never exalted myself over or condemned him just because he is a different skin color. I understand the gesture of kneeling as a manifestation of the fight against racism. and also to those who do, but my decision is this. Thank you for respecting me. STOP RACISM !!! ” wrote on the social network Juraj Kucka.
