“The epidemic situation in the Žilina hospital and in the Kysuce region has worsened sharply. There were 17 more patients in the weekend alone, we have 38 patients this morning, eight of whom are ventilated. That’s almost a quarter of all patients. I have to state that most of them are difficult and serious conditions, “said Igor Bízik, medical director of the Žilina hospital.

The hospital lacks staff who can provide care for patients infected with coronavirus. There are no internists, pulmonary doctors, anesthesiologists work hard, they need twice as much in the COVID pavilion, because the two teams in the red and white zones alternate between the beds.
