BANSKÁ BYSTRICA – The Olympic walking winner Matej Tóth will become the new director of the Military Sports Center Dukla Banská Bystrica from 1 November. The Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic informed about it.

Tóth replaces Roman Benčík, who ends up at his own request. “It is very pleasant to come to this position in such an atmosphere. Athlete Toth is an Olympic winner from Rio de Janeiro 2016 and world champion from Beijing 2015 in 50 km walk. He completed his last races on August 6, 2021 in Sapporo at the Tokyo Olympics and subsequently announced the end of his active sports career.
