Czech Prime Minister Babiš is already tired of politics: If we end up in opposition, I’m leaving – Topky.sk

Babiš reiterated that he is able to agree with anyone except the Pirates on the formation of a coalition. “If we were to end up in opposition, I would leave politics,” said Babiš. In that case, he would not be attracted to the presidency either. “I’m tired of constantly arguing in politics. I don’t want to be president.” added the Prime Minister.

He also explained dubious real estate purchases

On Monday, the Czech prime minister admitted that he bought 16 properties in France for almost 400 million crowns, which, according to the findings of world investigative journalists, he sent through his offshore companies. However, he denied the fact that he would own any real estate or offshore for the news server Novinky.cz. He also commented on this case in an interview with the radio station Frekvence 1, rejecting doubts about the purchase again and reiterating that he was not yet involved in politics at the time.

He still leads in surveys

According to a pre-election poll from October 3, Babiš’s YES movement would win the elections to the Czech Chamber of Deputies with 27.3 percent of the vote. In second place would be the coalition Together, followed by the coalition of Pirates and Mayors and Independents (STAN). The ruling Czech Social Democratic Party (CSSD) would not get into the lower house of parliament.

Elections to the lower house of the Czech parliament will be held on Friday and Saturday – October 8 and 9.
