Susan Sarandon was born Susan Abigail Tomalin on October 4, 1946 in New York City. While studying drama at the Catholic University of America in Washington from 1964 to 1968, she met actor Chris Sarandon and married him in 1967. They divorced after 12 years in 1979. It was not released for the second time.

In 1969, she and her husband went on a casting before filming Joe (1970). Chris didn’t get the role, but Susan was cast in the lead role. She has also appeared in small film roles and television projects, such as the soap opera A World Apart (1970), and in the popular comedy Mortadelo by Italian director Mario Monicelli (1971).

In 1975, she starred in the cult horror-comedy musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and alongside Robert Redford, she appeared in The Great Waldo Pepper. In the film Atlantic City (1980), which brought her an Oscar nomination, she embodied on the one hand the object of male desire, but also a woman endowed with intelligence and a dose of independence.
