Vendée: floods, Beauvoir-sur-Mer under water! – actu.fr

“Orange” rain-flood vigilance still in progress in the Vendée… The alert is maintained until 10 am this Sunday 3 October.

At 3 o’clock this morning, the SDIS Vendée counted 63 interventions since 5 p.m. Saturday.

Beauvoir under the water

The north-west of the department is more particularly affected with 80 mm of water in certain streets of Beauvoir-sur-Mer. Specialized nautical rescue teams are on site. Five people were evacuated after their homes were flooded.

Caution remains in order on L’Île-d’Yeu, Noirmoutier-en-l’Île, La Guérinière, Barbâtre, l’Epine, Notre-Dame-de-Monts, Saint-Jean-de-Monts, La Barre- de-Monts, Beauvoir-sur-Mer Bouin, Sallertaine, Saint-Gervais, Challans, Soulans, La Garnache, Chateauneuf, Bois-de-Céné, Soullans, Le Perrier, the risk of flooding is high.

The SDIS indicates significant cumulative rainfall: 80 mm in certain streets of Beauvoir-sur-Mer, 65 mm in Noirmoutier-en-l’Île, 60 mm in Perrier, 58 mm in L’Ile-d’Yeu.

Elsewhere in Vendée, the rains are temporarily weaker with accumulations of 20 to 40 mm in general for the moment.

Records in Loire-Atlantique

The accumulations in Loire-Atlantique are exceptional. The department, classified in red vigilance for the first time in its history, recorded 105 mm in Carquefou and 98.9 mm in Nantes, at 6 a.m. Never seen. The ring road is closed in Nantes.
