As he announced on the social network, he met with Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽaNO) and other ministers on Friday. “We talked about what we can do now to protect as many households as possible from rising prices,” Krajniak continues.

His movement announced on Monday that it would call for the creation of a working group to address the effects of rising energy prices on households.

Krajnik claims that he has five good news on Friday after the meeting:

1. Slovakia has GUARANTEED gas and electricity supplies for the entire winter period. There will be enough electricity and gas for households and for the rest of the economy as a whole.
2. Should an electricity or gas seller cease to exist, every household will have a smooth supply. In this case, the customer will be taken over by another company – with guaranteed prices. According to Krajniak, the household will not feel the price increase as a result of this change.
3. Until the beginning of December, negotiations will be held with the Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (ÚRSO) in order to reduce electricity and gas distribution fees as much as possible. To keep the final price for the customer as low as possible, “emphasizes the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
4. In December, we will already know how we managed to reduce prices for households, Krajniak continues. Subsequently, in December 2021, ÚRSO will create special tariffs for gas and electricity consumption for people who could be endangered by rising prices. “People will be able to choose the tariff that will be most advantageous for them,” he promises.
5. Throughout the winter, people will be GUARANTEED from their energy suppliers that if they cannot pay them, they will receive a repayment schedule. “So no one has to worry about being disconnected from energy due to a temporary problem,” Krajniak reassures.

He adds that the situation will be evaluated by the government office every week. “In December, we will see where we have gone in negotiations with ÚRSO, and if there is a risk that some families will end up in energy poverty, we are ready to provide a” return “, so the most deprived would also receive this form of assistance,” says Krajniak.
