Unemployment insurance reform: faced with the risk of attacks, Pôle Emploi is equipping itself with alert bracelets in Ile-de-France – archyde

It is undoubtedly a coincidence of the calendar. Pôle emploi and Elisabeth Borne denied, Friday 1^er October, any link between the strengthening of security in the Pôle Emploi agencies and the entry into force, on the same day, of the unemployment insurance reform which provides that the compensation paid to job seekers is subject to to tougher rules.

In an article published on his site on Thursday, France Inter affirm that “Pôle emploi seems to be worried about possible attacks by its agents, after the entry into force of the unemployment insurance reform”.

Increased risks for advisors

Public radio refers to a document presented last week to the central CSE (social and economic committee). According to Agence France-Presse (AFP) which obtained it, the management of the public operator evokes “Increased security risks (violence, terrorism, cybercrime, etc.)”.

She notes that Pôle emploi “Is exposed to these risks: verbal, written and physical incivility and aggression, demonstrations, invasions, etc.)” but does not make any reference to the reform of unemployment insurance, nor in the plan declined in Ile-de-France. The latter document, presented this week to union officials and also consulted by AFP, specifies that 695 bracelets, allowing agents to trigger an alert in the event of danger, have been ordered for the Ile-de-France sites.

“Safety of agents and job seekers”

Reacting to the France Inter article, a union official from Pôle emploi said: “These are haphazard parallels. It is about the continuation of the drama of Valence in January ”, referring to a 53-year-old team manager on January 28. The representative of another union confirms that“There is no direct link between the two, but that could help because the arrival of the reform risks creating additional situations of aggressiveness”.

For his part, Elisabeth Borne, the Minister of Labor, recalled on LCI that after this murder in January, “The management wants to reassure its agents of the fear of an attack. It is extremely shocking to maintain confusion with the reform of Unemployment Insurance ”.

“The security plan, developed at the local level by each region, has nothing to do with the entry into force of the unemployment insurance reform. It aims to ensure the safety of both agents and job seekers. (…) following the tragedy in Valence, which cost the life of one of our advisers ”, underlines for his part in a press release the general manager of Pôle emploi, Jean Bassères, who deplores that these measures are “Instrumentalised”.

Regarding the reform of unemployment insurance, Pôle emploi assures that it has “Trained all of its advisers, and in particular its 7,600 advisers, in rights management to study the new rights of job seekers and answer their questions”. “A dedicated space on the pole-emploi.fr site” must be uploaded during the day.
