Pays de la Loire placed on orange “rain-flood” vigilance by Météo France – franceinfo

Be careful if you are in the Pays de la Loire this weekend. Météo France has placed the five departments of the region on orange “rain-flood” vigilance on Saturday 2 October. These are Loire Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire, Mayenne, Sarthe and Vendée.

The rains start at midday and intensify over the hours, especially from the evening. A layer of water of 40 to 60 mm is expected over a large area with even locally up to 80 mm, warns Météo France.

In the afternoon, from Brittany and the Hauts de France to the Paris region, the Pays de Loire and to Poitou-Charentes, the weather will become particularly disturbed and will continue until the evening, with sustained rains and a strong southerly wind.
