Government knocks down health care reform, the largest for the minister in the last 17 years – HNonline.sk

The bill on the categorization of institutional health care is the largest attempt to rebuild health care in 17 years. This is stated in the proposal, which includes, for example, the optimization of the hospital network, the reworking of the outpatient sector or the regulation of the profits of health insurance companies. The government today approved the reform of Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky. The first real changes in practice will begin in 2024.

After the new one, an optimized network of hospitals is to be created. These should operate at five levels: community, regional, comprehensive, final and national.

There is a wave of criticism

However, the changes being pushed hit a record number of comments, up to 1,200. A wave of criticism is rolling from all sides. Just last week, Lengvarsky said that he “believes that with the reform they will finally reach an acceptable and best possible solution.”
