The first 11 platforms are used for long-distance and international connections, 25 platforms with numbers 12 to 36 for intercity connections.

“Almost 20,000 passengers and 1,100 buses pass through the new station every day, while the maximum capacity of the new bus station is up to five times the number of connections,” says Slovak lines, which will operate the station.

The new bus station together with the shopping center was built by the developer HB Reavis, the owner of Slovak lines. Originally, the station was to be completed in the summer of last year, due to the pandemic, the opening was delayed, first to the summer of 2021, later to the autumn.

Last year, the developer opened a significantly rebuilt street, which he calls Mlynské nivy city boulevard – there are extended sidewalks, new bike paths and stops. It is now opening the new station building itself, along with a shopping mall.
