The infections and deaths of Covid-19 continue to decrease globally. More than 4.1 million new positives (-14%) and 84 thousand deaths (-2%) reported in the last week, according to the World Health Organization report. The European region still reported the greatest decline, with almost 525 thousand new cases in the last 7 days (-25%) and almost 13 thousand deaths (-21%), followed by South East Asia. The new positives are stable in the Americas, Eastern Mediterranean, Africa and Western Pacific regions, reports the WHO. The largest increase in deaths was recorded in the last week in the Western Pacific region, while other regions reported declines or similar numbers from the previous week. Despite a global trend of reduction in the last 4 weeks – WHO specifies – the incidence of Covid-19 cases and deaths remains high and substantial increases have been observed in many countries around the world. The highest number of new cases in the last 7 days was reported in India (over 1.8 million positives, -23%), Brazil (over 450 thousand, + 3%), Argentina (over 213 thousand, + 41%), USA (over 188 thousand, -20%) and Colombia (over 107 thousand, -7%).
