The new chairman of the Together party is Miroslav Kollár. The mayor of Hlohovec and the deputy will replace the current chairman Juraj Hipš. It was decided at the party assembly by a vote of 98 to 62, one abstained.

“Friends, thank you very much for your trust, we continue to work in a better Slovakia, I believe that they are all TOGETHER. And, of course, we will not avoid working with our closest partners. We continue to elect other party bodies, we will rest on Sunday, we will go for it from Monday! ”He wrote on Facebook.

In the case of both candidates, it was also a matter of choosing the philosophy of the party’s direction. While Kollár is convinced that Together it should function independently as a center-right and civic democratic party, Hipš advocated a connection with Progressive Slovakia (PS), which would allow to obtain sufficient percentages in elections and use the party’s professional potential to create an alternative to current and past governments.

The chairwoman of the “progressives”, Irena Bihari, also called for contact with the PS; in an open letter to members of the Spolu party, she argued for the proximity of opinions and values ​​of both political entities.
