ČUNOVO – In the finals of the K1 women at the World Championships in water slalom in Čunovo, not a single Slovak will present herself. Soňa Stanovská finished in 20th place in the semifinals, Eliška Mintálová in 19th and Jana Dukátová, for whom it was the last ride in her career, took 17th place.

Stanovská made one mistake and took a two-second penalty after touching the goal. Ducat also had one touch, Mintal was deprived of the penetration into the final ten by an error on the thirteenth goal, when she had to return and lost valuable seconds. “The track is unpredictable and it’s still changing. I had to fix the boat, I thought I could make it, but I took one shot and it moved me out of the gates. I have to look it up, but the ride was great and I had it guarded. Except for this one gate. I’m sorry. But this is a water slalom. I believed I wasn’t stressed, I’m all the more sorry. said Mintálová, who will present herself in Sunday’s final of the extreme slalom.

The fastest ride in the semifinals was performed by the German representative Ricarda Funková, who advanced from the first place despite a four-second penalty. Jessica Fox, the big favorite, will be missing from the final. She originally reached the best time, but the judges revealed that the Australian missed one goal and got “fifty”.

Ducat said goodbye with a solid ride, but it was not enough for the finals. “I didn’t think it was my last ride, I was maximally concentrated. I wasn’t nervous, on the contrary. I wanted to do as much as I could, I longed for the final, but decided the end of the track. The rest was good.” said the 38-year-old kayaker.
