On Instagram, where Evangelista has almost a million fans, she has now explained why she does not show up in public and, unlike her famous colleagues, she no longer even works.

In the 1990s, Linda Evangelista was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world. Along with Claudio Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford, she was one of those models who boasted the adjective “super”.

The 56-year-old former Instagram star explained that she had been the victim of a failed beauty surgery. In a long article, she wrote that she remained brutally disfigured after undergoing a beauty treatment called “CoolSculpting”. It is a process in which fat cells in the body are destroyed by the cold. In the case of the Evangelist, however, this method did not lead to the breakdown, but on the contrary, to the growth of fat cells. As he writes, it remained “permanently deformed” and not even two painful corrections changed anything.

The article also explains what happened to her exactly about five years ago – it suffers from a phenomenon called “paradoxical adipose hyperplasia” (PAH), a consequence that can occur in rare cases after undergoing “CoolSculpting”. According to the model, she was not aware of this risk before the procedure.
