Covid today South Korea, 2,434 infections after the holidays

South Korea records a record of coronavirus infections coinciding with Chuseok, the Korean ‘thank you’, one of the most important holidays in the country. Health authorities have reported 2,434 new cases of Covid-19, as reported by the Yonhap agency, pointing out that for the holidays, from Monday to last Wednesday, millions of South Koreans have moved to reach their families. Seven other deaths from coronavirus-related complications have also been reported. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 295,132 cases have been confirmed in South Korea with 2,434 deaths, according to data from the Kdca. To date, 22.6 million South Koreans, 44% of the population, have completed vaccination against Covid-19.
