Gmail on Android: you’ll have less trouble finding a lost email – Frandroid

On Android, the Gmail application hosts a more refined filter system. It’s actually based on the web version, which has been eligible for it for some time now.

Gmail in the Web version, you have been able to filter your email searches with precision for several years now. To do this, Google has made available several options to be completed before or after a keyword search, as desired.

For example, it is possible to indicate the recipient or the recipient, the date, if the email contains an attachment, the size of said attachment, a specific term. In short, a very practical tool to save time finding an email drowned in your inbox.

The app joins the fun

Except that until then, this advanced system was limited to the web version of the mail service. The Android application was excluded. The Mountain View firm has therefore decided to fill this gap for it to benefit in turn.

In the idea, the operation will be perfectly identical: several choices of filters will appear under your search bar after entering a keyword, for example.

On our smartphones by the end of October

These new possibilities will land by default on the Gmail application: you just need to download an update to taste it. The Californian giant specifies that the deployment of the update, which began on September 20, will extend until the end of October 2021.

In other words, everyone will have access to these more precise filters within a little over a month, so as to have less headaches on your smartphone to find an email lost in one of your labels.
