MOSCOW. Several Russian news sites reported that police reinforcements had been withdrawn to the center of Moscow. Part of Pushkin Square is fenced with barricades and vehicles are parked nearby, as they usually transport detainees to police stations. The Echo of Moscow radio station informed about it.

They do not accept the result of the election

She added that the deployment of police reinforcements may be the result of a call by Valery Rashkin, leader of the Moscow organization of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF), who called on citizens to come to Pushkin Square for a public debate on the election results.

In a statement on the social network Facebook Rashkin wrote that he did not accept the results of the elections in Moscow.

The Communist Party itself announced plans to hold public rallies in Moscow on 20, 25 September and 3 October. The capital authorities have already stated that they will not allow these assemblies due to the pandemic.

Another Communist candidate, Mikhail Lobanov, also called for a public debate on the results of the elections in Moscow.

Election results

The news portal Meduza.iv reported on Monday that in the elections to the State Duma in one-member constituencies in Moscow, all opposition candidates lost, although some of them were in the lead until the final count – then the situation changed to their detriment.

On this basis, the opposition suspects the Central Election Commission of machinations in electronic voting in the elections in the capital.
