Dupond-Moretti case: lawyers for the Minister of Justice have filed a request to cancel his mi – Franceinfo

Eric Dupond-Moretti’s lawyers have filed a motion for nullity of his indictment for “illegal taking of interests” with the Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR), as they had announced in the month of July, Franceinfo learned from a source close to the Minister of Justice on Monday, September 20, confirming information from Figaro.

The Minister of Justice was indicted last July because he is suspected of having taken advantage of his duties as minister to intervene in cases in which he was previously a lawyer. His offices at the ministry were raided that same month.

A few days after his indictment, Eric Dupond-Moretti had declared that “nothing will start [sa] determination. I am extremely serene “ and expressed his intention to remain minister by saying that he was “more determined than ever to be fully Minister of Justice”. He had obtained the support of the government spokesperson.

The CJR opened a judicial investigation in January after complaints from magistrates’ unions and the Anticor association, which accuse it in particular of having launched administrative proceedings a year ago against three magistrates of the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office involved in the affair of the “fadettes”. They indeed participated in a preliminary investigation aimed at identifying the “mole” who allegedly informed Nicolas Sarkozy and his lawyer Thierry Herzog that they were being tapped.
