No beta: Starlink could come to Slovakia as a finished product, Musk – Živé.sk suggested

• SpaceX’s satellite internet is in beta testing.
• The service called Starlink is to be released from the beta next month.
• In Slovakia, the service can start at almost any time, but so far there are no signs that this should happen in the coming weeks.

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service may be available on the Slovak market in its full version and not only as part of the beta testing that is currently underway.

How did we pointed out at the end of August, SpaceX (under the banner of an independent subsidiary of Starlink Internet Services Ltd.) fulfilled its so-called reporting obligation to the Regulatory Authority on June 21.

At the moment, it can start providing satellite internet connection as soon as the company is ready. It notified the Office of the “expected date of the start of network provision” as early as 1 August 2021, but this has not yet happened.

So far, we do not register any signs that the company would contact future Slovak clients who in the past period expressed interest in its service and paid a roughly 80-euro refundable deposit.

It can thus be assumed that the launch of the service on our market will take some time.

However, Elon Musk has since announced that Starlink is moving from a beta version to its full-fledged phase. He stated on Twitter that this should happen next month, ie in October.

If the transition from the beta version will be widespread, and therefore not limited to selected markets, it means that Starlink will reach Slovakia as a fully presented service.

Until exactly when Slovaks will be able to try out Starlink, it remains unknown until then. For selected border sites, especially in the north of Slovakia, SpaceX on its website indicates availability later this year. For most of Slovakia, it is not until 2022.

However, these terms are not fixed or binding, they may change.

Starlink currently has over 100,000 customers in its beta testing. Over half a million people have so far shown an active interest in it. The service currently operates in 18 markets, including Germany, Austria and Poland.
