The pope in Košice was waiting at the Polaček Dome, councilors and people. In the end, they parted sadly – Korzár Košice

KOŠICE. During the third day of Pope Francis’ stay in Slovakia, the head of the Catholic Church paid a visit to Prešov and Košice.

Part of his official program after his morning arrival in Košice was the morning Divine Liturgy in front of the Municipal Sports Hall in Prešov.

After the ceremony, which ended around noon, František went out of schedule to greet the employees in the Jesuit Exercise House of the Society of Jesus in Prešov, who could not attend the celebration.

From there he moved to Košice, where he was waiting for him lunch in a priestly seminary at the Franciscan church in the city center and then a meeting with the Roma community on Lunik IX starting at 4 pm

Less than an hour later, he also met the youth at the Lokomotiva Stadium and finally flew back to Bratislava in the evening.

Hundreds of believers and councilors gathered at the Dome

Unofficial information, however, said that even before, right after returning from Prešov, he would come to Košice’s Main Street and perhaps see the Cathedral of St. Elizabeth.

The arrival of the Pope to the center was announced through the social networks in the morning by the Mayor of Košice Jaroslav Polaček (independent).

“It simply came to our notice then. Holy Father František will also visit the pride of our city, Hlavná Street, and we believe that the Dome of St. Elizabeth. It is a great honor for us, “Polaček informed Košice and visitors to the city on Facebook.

This is probably why people began to gather near the Dome as early as noon, when the Pope was just finishing the liturgy in Prešov.
