The helicopter of the Pakistani army took Czech climbers Jakub Vlck and Petr Mack to the safety of the Czech Republic in the morning, who with a colleague from Pakistan, Vajdullah Nagri, had not been able to complete the descent from Rakapoši Hill in recent days.

Rakapoši Peak, located in the Karakoram Mountains in Pakistan, is the 27th highest mountain in the world.

The trio, who got stuck at an altitude of about 6,900 meters five days ago, is now fine in Gilgit. This was stated on twitter by local authorities, according to which the mountaineers are in good health.

The Pakistani daily Dawn previously wrote that while the Pakistani Nagra is in good condition, one of the Czech climbers has frostbite and the other suffers from an acute mountain sickness. According to Vlček, on the other hand, it was Nagra who had problems and needed help with the descent.

So far, rescue efforts have been complicated by excessive altitude and especially unsuitable landing for landing. On Tuesday, at least three helicopters transported ropes, water, food and medicine to the three mountaineers.

The climbers successfully climbed the 7788 meter high, very difficult to reach Rakapoši peak on Friday last week, then began to descend to the camp. Later, however, they sent an SMS message to their loved ones that they got into trouble. However, they continued to be in contact with families and authorities via satellite telephone. In recent days, helicopters have been looking for climbers, and on Monday, rescuers managed to locate the group.

According to the Minister of Tourism of the regional government of Raj, Nasir Ali Khan, the Czechs went out without government permission, which he described as unethical.
