“This tour will last about a month and a half, almost two months, so I will grow (laughs). Along the way, literally, my body will grow. That is something super beautiful for me, it will be unforgettable. this tour. Very, very special, “said the Chilean singer.
Mon Laferte on her pregnancy
The announcement of her pregnancy sparked a frenzy among music fans and colleagues alike. On a post on your Instagram account, the Chilean singer said that after a year of trying, she managed to get pregnant through hormonal treatment.
For Laferte, what most caught his attention of the reactions that the news generated was the conversation that was generated around the desired pregnancies.
“People like talking about desired pregnancies caught my attention. And also the issue of how to manage work and a motherhood. I think more than ever: ‘How do those women who have to go every day work) with a schedule and with all these nausea and the whole issue of hormones? How difficult! I thought that a lot because anyway my schedules are more flexible in some way, “the singer told Zona Pop CNN.
-Has pregnancy inspired you to make new music?
“I’ve already written some songs. In fact, I was four months in Los Angeles and I went through this whole process of getting pregnant while in Los Angeles and I took advantage and wrote an album and recorded it. And of course, there are some songs that are directly for babies. Also It was born as a different sensibility, at least it happened to me, which I didn’t have before. I eat with less fear, too. Nothing matters anymore. Nothing is so important. I’m making a life inside, so that’s how we’re going to sing, we’re going to make music. I freed myself from many things. I do feel with a different sensitivity when composing and creating, “said the singer.
His first tour since the pandemic
Mon Laferte begins this tour in the city of Seattle, where it has two dates. Then he will tour, with another 24 concerts, part of the country, and will perform in cities such as Los Angeles, where it already has sold out, Brooklyn, New York, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta and Las Vegas.

-Is there a particular song that Mon Laferte yearns to perform on stage?
“All, huh? Especially from SIX because I have never played it live, well we have done some virtual shows, but it is not the same as with the public. I really want to play those songs from the album SIX, but also all … because in addition, it is all new, post-pandemic, the sensitivity is different, I am pregnant. Everything is going to be super special on this tour, “Laferte told Zona Pop CNN.
“I actually put together a setlist super big and I want to change the songs between cities. I want to play a lot of songs, if I always play the same ones it won’t work for me. I already have six albums (laughs), “added the singer.
Recently, the singer presented for Spotify Singles a Spanish version of Billie Eilish’s song “Wish you were gay”. This project also includes a version of “Flaco”, which emerges from his album “La trenza”.
“I really liked that Billie song,” Laferte said in a Spotify statement. “Growing up, I always loved listening to the Spanish versions of rock n ‘roll songs and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do the same with a song that I love.”
It remains to wait for their concerts to see if these two versions will be within their repertoire.
Mon Laferte and hispanidad
The tour begins one day before the start of Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States, a holiday between September 15 and October 15 that commemorates the contribution of Hispanics to the country.
The singer assures that starting this tour during this month “feels nice”.
“It happens to me that every time I go to the United States, the cities I visit are cities where there are many Latinos … English is not used anymore (in some cities). I was in Los Angeles now for four months and I never spoke English. It’s crazy, but it feels at home in some way. Los Angeles, the city I visit the most, is like another city in Mexico, “Laferte told Zona Pop CNN.
