Weather: Hérault and Gard placed on orange vigilance for thunderstorms, rain and flood – franceinfo

Two departments in the south of France were placed on orange vigilance for the risk of thunderstorms, rain and flooding, Tuesday, September 14 by Météo France. These are the Hérault and the Gard. The rainy-thunderstorm episode should begin at 8 a.m. and end around 2 p.m. “Not all of the two departments are affected by this episode, which should remain localized “, precise Meteo France. Severe thunderstorms are expected, with rainfall ranging from 80mm to 100mm or more in a short time, which could cause flooding.

“Strong gusts, hail and marked electrical activity are also expected”, adds the meteorological site. “These violent storms are likely to cause significant damage locally”, “lives and property can be locally endangered” and “some disturbances may affect rail transport”, Météo France advance.
