There were 214 cases, with delta variants occurring 72 times. Of the total number of 4,162 cases, 1,132 were imported, which is 27 percent. Daša Račková, a spokeswoman for the Public Health Office, informed about it on Monday.

Adriána Plšková from the Department of Epidemiology of the Regional Office of Public Health based in Banská Bystrica stated that Croatia was followed by 73 imports from Spain, while confirming delta variants 57 times.

In third place is the Czech Republic, from which 65 people imported the new coronavirus and 23 times delta variants were confirmed. It is followed by Greece with 56 cases of imports, in which delta variants appeared 16 times. In addition, 45 cases were imported from the United Kingdom, with delta variants occurring 28 times.

Imports of the new coronavirus were also recorded in Cyprus, in 27 cases in which the delta variant occurred 12 times. Positive people came from a total of 25 countries, from other countries they recorded one to three cases of import of a new coronavirus to Slovakia.

“In recent weeks, the number of infected people has increased slightly, including the reproductive number. The development of the situation will mainly affect the behavior of people – compliance with the set measures within the country and after coming from abroad and increasing the proportion of vaccinated people, “said Plšková.

Compared to June 2021, when there were 3201 positive cases, according to Plšková, this is a 23 percent increase in cases. The highest incidence in July and August was recorded in the age group of 15 to 19 years and 20 to 24 years. The share of the risk group aged 65 and over was low, there were 354 cases.

She added that from the regional point of view, there were the most – 962 cases in the Bratislava region, which represented 23 percent of all cases in the Slovak Republic. The second highest incidence was in the Košice region – 811 cases, ie 19 percent of all cases.

In July and August, a total of 1173 cases caused by the delta variant were confirmed, of which 397 in imported cases, 48 ​​times it was related to the imported case. In other cases, the travel history was negative.

People with the new coronavirus most often had respiratory problems, ie sore throat, runny nose or cough. There were 2595 cases. In 22 percent, they had a new asymptomatic coronavirus. There were 934 cases.

Febrile form of symptoms was noted in 404 cases. Sensory symptoms manifested 79 times. The new coronavirus had intestinal symptoms in 18 cases and pulmonary symptoms in 29 cases. Other symptoms occurred 103 times.
