Anti health pass demonstration in Toulouse: who is behind the attack on the yellow vests and the far left? – LaDepeche.fr

Boulevard Carnot in Toulouse transformed into a boxing ring, the rules less, during the demonstration against the health pass this Saturday September 11. Kicks, sticks (not iron bars), flag handles… It runs, it screams before the police separate the protagonists.

“We were clearly targeted,” reproaches a man who claims to be yellow vest. For him, there is no doubt: the aggression “of the fascists” was aimed at “yellow vests involved in the movement from the start”. At least one man, victim of a violent blow to the genitals, was taken care of by firefighters and transported to Purpan hospital. “Other friends have also left for treatment,” said the witness, shocked by the virulence of the aggression.

It all started with a banner from the far left

The altercation, as short as it was violent, broke out at the corner of Carnot and Strasborug boulevards and rue de la Concorde at the start of the demonstration which brought together fewer people (around 1,500 people) than the eight previous Saturdays. A group of about twenty individuals wanted to do battle and began to attack a banner from the far left which read “Down with the State, the cops and the bosses – Revolution without frontier “. In a second step, these individuals attacked other demonstrators, in particular the Yellow Gillets.

The virulent intervention of the police, in particular members of the anti-crime brigade (Bac) put an end to the confrontation. There was no arrest.

Less violent clashes during the latest demonstrations

Who were behind the masks and caps, some with their faces completely uncovered, of those who will be qualified as aggressors? Difficult to say even if it looks like members of a small group of the extreme right.

In recent weeks, less spectacular clashes, shorter (this time at least 5 mm of exchange of blows) between members of the extreme right and the extreme left. Their antagonism, not new, is marked by confrontation. And this fight will not reconcile the two camps.
