Zapping Goal! Football club OM: Florian Thauvin’s assessment in the Marseille city
We expected heavy last night, we were disappointed. The disciplinary committee decided to sanction both Nice and Marseille after the excesses of August 22, but to a half-extent. Only the Marseille physical trainer took a lot of money (suspension until June 30) but, as Vincent Duluc writes in his editorial of the day, he was the least known character and therefore the most easily sanctioned. Moreover, the journalist from L’Equipe explains this:
“In this series of half-measures, or renunciation, the disciplinary committee has taken considerable risks for the future. She left too many doors open last night. It was necessary to announce to France of football that what had happened was unacceptable and should never happen again. The disciplinary committee preferred to make it known that it fairly understood the victims and the perpetrators. She sought a vaguely popular verdict. But that’s not how we maintain the values of a competition and restore an image that that evening, across Europe, had seriously damaged. “
Since yesterday, the Marseille fans, who have frankly badly given that the three previous ones had always given victory on the green carpet to the visiting team, note that the day when the result of a team does not agree, its supporters do not ‘just go down to the lawn and the game will be replayed.

A dangerous precedent set after the Nice-OM sanctions
The decision of the Disciplinary Commission of the League not to sanction more severely the excesses observed at the Allianz Riviera on August 22 created a dangerous precedent because, from now on, the supporters could easily make annul a result which does not suit them.
