“I made several observations, with the authorities of scientists: there is a decline in contraception in a certain number of young women, and the first reason is the renunciation for financial reasons”, continued Mr. Véran, adding: “It’s unbearable that women cannot protect themselves, cannot have contraception, if they choose, obviously, because it costs them too much in their budget. “
According to Mr. Véran, this measure represents a cost of 21 million euros per year for the State.
