His name is Karol, he has brown fur and he lives in the forest. Yes, it is a brown bear, which has been moving in the inner city of Staré Hory in recent days. Even though the inhabitants of the village are already wearing the bear, this bear is young and makes a “galibu” – people are not afraid and go “sweep” containers, where they look for food. They do not have general containers, the inhabitants unload their collection containers only at the time when the garbage truck is to arrive according to the schedule.

The mayor of the village, Marián Gajdoš, therefore turned to the intervention team of the brown bear, which decided radically – to kill the young bear. It is about three years old, weighing about 80 kilograms. They tried to scare the bear away, but without success. The inhabitants meet him especially in the morning and there is a mess in the area where he moved. Some are afraid to go to work because they have found him resting in front of the house.

“He is not ours, because ours are brought up decently. It’s a young bear scattering garbage around the village. He is used to people and feeding on garbage. They called me that they couldn’t go to work because the bear was lying by their house. He went to the yard or lay down on the rug in front of the door, ” said for the portal čas.sk Mayor Gajdoš. According to him, the bear is to be caught today. “Until then, the intervention team has been working in the village, scaring him and preparing him to catch it.
