Jaroslav Naď: If the pegs go to SaS, they may lose the Ministry of Justice – Denník N

The Minister of Defense from OĽaNO describes how our soldiers picked up people at the airport in Kabul and also how he wants to increase vaccinations in the army.

In an interview with Jaroslav Naď, you can read:

You have done everything to all people with ties to our country they got from Afghanistan to Slovakia?

The first aspect was the creation of a list of people that the Slovak Republic is interested in pulling out of this country, the second was their real pulling out. The list of people was covered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, although military intelligence and the SIS ensured their lustration. The original list also went through various NGOs.

They compiled a list of more than 300 names.

Our plane was there twice. For the first time, it was about our citizens and the people who worked with our armed forces. That list was made very simple. In the second case, non-governmental organizations and the director of the Migration Office, Ján Orlovský, were involved in creating the list. This list was created at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its final form was important to me.

Were there only the names of the 28 people you brought in?

There weren’t even so many people on it. We added other people to Kabul directly in Kabul or who spoke later. It has always been meant to create a primary list to which others can be added. He originally had 18 names. We added people we could realistically reach, and they too were able to get closer, and we would be able to get them through the Taliban checkpoint.

Why has the list of 300 names been reduced in this way?

The list of more than 300 names included many people who wanted to get out of Afghanistan, but not only communicated with the Slovak Republic, but some with the whole of the West, just to get out of the country. It happened to us, for example, that we put a man on the list, called him and told us that he was already on his way with the Americans. Therefore, we focused only on people who have ties to Slovakia.

So there was no one left with ties to Slovakia, who I’m here at the same time wanted to get?

I do not register a single person with real ties to Slovakia, with whom we communicated and left him there. We register only one lady who has Slovak citizenship and would like to stay in Afghanistan. This is a nurse.

Do you not even register any person with ties to Slovakia who failed to get to the airport?

We are talking here about people we have had contact with, managed to connect with and at least get close to the airport – following the Taliban’s checkpoint. And then we figured out how to get them through this position.

Did our special forces negotiate directly with the Taliban?
