The high number of migrants who tried to cross the English Channel on Monday was probably also affected by the change in weather. Compared to previous weeks, it has warmed and the water is calmer.

Rescuers had their hands full

British rescuers were taking migrants from the sea to the coast, and witnesses said they had their hands full since the morning. Sky News reports that only a day earlier they brought to safety in Dover groups of migrants who were the first in the last 14 days.
