Men’s Euro volleyball: France continues its clear round against Germany – franceinfo

Three games, three wins. A clear, clean and flawless balance sheet for the French team under the new Brazilian coach Bernardo Rezende, known as “Bernardinho”. The Blues have won in four sets (31-29, 15-25, 25-22, 25-22) against Germany, Monday September 6, in Tallinn, Estonia. Jostled in the first set, passed through the second set, the Olympic champions then shifted into high gear to free themselves from the grip of less dashing Germans in the game.

With this new almost perfect success, France retains the lead of its group with 9 points ahead of Germany and Latvia, its next opponent. A victory already synonymous with a qualification in the round of 16, two meetings before the end of the group stage. For this group D final, the French were warned: the Germans wanted to take their revenge after the TQO final, narrowly won in January 2020 with the consequences that we know subsequently. A slump for the partners of Earvin Ngapeth, still author of a remarkable performance in attack (21 points), but who quickly set the record straight afterwards. Once the main German danger was identified, the young pointed Linus Weber with 27 points in the bag, the French focused on their strengths in key moments. Always solid on crucial points, Antoine Brizard and Barthélémy Chinenyeze came to switch the score to two sets to one in favor of theirs. Same diagram in the last round where the tricolor power took precedence over the Germans in the last moments. Without being imperial on the ground, the Blues have therefore fulfilled the most important part of their contract: a qualification for the round of 16 and confidence in good shape.
