Laurent Wauquiez steps up to the plate

Sunday 5 September 2021 in the evening, the president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Laurent Wauquiez, decided to crack down. “This concert was tolerated until then out of respect for the diversity of opinions, but they clearly crossed the red line by openly insulting the police in a very heavy context”, relates Progress.

The President of the Region has announced that it will cut subsidies from the CCO (social and cultural laboratory) of Villeurbanne, responsible for programming the event. A subsidy which previously amounted to 45,000 euros.
