BRATISLAVA. The We Are Family movement is in favor of opening an extraordinary parliamentary session requested by the opposition but will not support an appeal Romana Mikulca from the position of Minister of the Interior.

They responded to statements by some coalition leaders following the lifting of allegations by several people, including SIS Vladimír Pčolinský from corruption.

In response to Igor Matovič (OĽANO), who in turn said that he had no soul in place in connection with the procedure of the General Prosecutor’s Office, Kollár noted that the goal OĽaNO is an anti-corruption fight and the primary goal of We Family is the social field.

Kollár reiterated that We Are a Family would leave the government if the coalition removed section 363, which gives the Attorney General the authority to drop the charge.

Kollár emphasized that the government’s program statement did not refer to the repeal of the mentioned paragraph, but to its review.

Kollár and Pellegrini refuse to question the decision taken by the Attorney General in his statutory capacity.

“This decision is justified on more than 70 pages describing dozens of mistakes,” Kollár warned, emphatically refusing to intervene with the Attorney General for the dismissal of the former SIS chief – the nominee We Are a Family.

He pointed out that the relevant section 363 of the Criminal Procedure Code had been used by the GP in the past, and at the same time recalled that there was information on the manipulation of witness statements.

“If some have privatized justice during the direction of the Direction, it is not possible for the same thing to happen under this government, albeit in the name of the noble goal of fighting corruption,” the Speaker of Parliament emphasized.

Žilinka had broad support in the election

The leader of the Voice party, Peter Pellegrini, stated on the Markíza television program that the General Prosecutor’s Office is being blackmailed. According to the head of the Voice, he had Žilinka broad support for his election in parliament and therefore may not be grateful to anyone.

Pellegrini pointed out that the power of the Attorney General in the case of section 363 is a tool to prevent unjust accusations, and anyone can become a victim of such abuse.

He described the statements against the prosecutor’s office as an interference with the division of power in the state and as “jihad”. According to the head of the Voice, paragraph 363 didn’t bother anyone. He expressed his belief that Žilina’s decision would also encourage other prosecutors and police officers.

He also pointed out that by its decision the GP did not prohibit re-bringing charges, but ordered it to do so legally.

Pellegrini wants the head of Mikulec and Lipsica

Both discussants also commented on the situation in the police and the resignation of the current police president, Peter Kovařík.

The ex-prime minister is convinced that the accusation of the chief of police for obstructing justice was not Kovařík’s autonomous decision, but that he interrupted police intervention in the case of manipulated witness statements at the behest of the Minister of the Interior Roman Mikulec.

“It cannot end with Mr Kovařík leaving, Minister Mikulec must also leave, and I think Mr Lipšic should also pack his suitcases,” Pellegrini said, suggesting that a special prosecutor may have been involved in the case.
