STREČNO. On road 1/18 Pod Strečnom there was a serious traffic accident of a bus and cars. The road is currently impassable. This was reported on the social network Facebook page Pomoc Motoristom Žilina.

“On Sunday, September 5, 2021, around 11:30 a.m., there was a road of 1/18 between Žilina and Martin to the collision of a bus and several cars. A large number of rescue services are involved on the spot. The section is currently impassable in both directions, “adds the page.

According to SAD Žilina spokeswoman Ivana Strelcová, a bus driver, 59-year-old Jozef M., going on a regular train from Turčianske Teplice to Žilina, probably had a heart attack while driving. “He went in the opposite direction, where there was a collision with other vehicles. At that time there were another passenger on the bus and a steward responsible for loading bicycles correctly. The driver was taken by ambulance to the Žilina hospital shortly after the accident. Strelcová said.

The police of the Slovak Republic informed that the traffic is diverted in the sections: Kraľovany, Párnica, Žilina, Košická junction, exit from the motorway in the direction from Vrútok to Žilina.
