Samsung has reserved a nice surprise for its next Galaxy A – lemon squeezer

According to a rumor shared – once is not customary – by the Koreans of The Elec, all models in the Samsung Galaxy A range that will be launched in 2022 will have OIS stabilization on board. Until now, only a few products from this family were eligible, not counting the brand’s flagships. We can notably mention the A52 and its variations (our 5G test) but also the A72.

For the moment, however, we do not know a more precise release date for these potential articles. By way of comparison, the Galaxy A02s nevertheless saw the light of day in January this year, a sign that the next editions of its range are perhaps only a few cables away from an official release. The pace of presentation of their manufacturer is also particularly high, with several dozen smartphones per year.

OIS: what is it?

OIS, for optical image stabilization in English, is a technology that stabilizes images thanks to a mechanism actuated by motors. It is found on many high-end mobiles, such as iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. One of its advantages is its ability to enhance photos taken freehand, often spoiled by body movements that are difficult to control or by breathing.

This solution is far from recent: it was already found for example on the HTC One in 2013, under the trade name UltraPixel. Most manufacturers on the market use it, including on the side of digital cameras. Pentax, Nokia, Sigma, Sony, Panasonic, Leica, Olympus, Fujifilm, Minolta, Canon, Nikon: all of them have successfully relied on the OIS system, often making it accessible for a few hundred euros.

Galaxy A, a successful recipe

The collection of Samsung Galaxy A offers a multitude of phones for often particularly affordable prices. The Galaxy A41, for example, has a large 6.1-inch screen for a definition of 1080 by 2400 pixels. Compatible with Android 11, the device is powered by a Mediatek MT6768 Helio P65 processor engraved with a precision of twelve nanometers. The price ? Less than three hundred euros at some resellers.

Finally, we can also mention the most recent A03s which with its 3 or 4 GB of RAM guarantees a relatively fluid experience on a daily basis, again with an imposing display but 6.5 inches this time. Its strong point is its one-day autonomy, made possible by a 5,000 mAh battery.
