Slovaks will soon stand at the polls again: See in which villages – Topky

Due to the non-submission of a candidate for the election of a deputy, the elections will not take place in the municipalities of Hradište pod Vrátnom, Pavlice, Malá Čausa, Bielovce, Žikava, Pribylina and Píla. No candidate for mayor of the municipality applied in the village of Moškovec. In the village of Starina, no one has submitted a candidate for mayor or deputy to the municipal council.

The mayor and a member of the municipal council will be elected on the penultimate Saturday in October in the village of Zemiansky Vrbovok. The mayor is to be elected in Sečovce. They are to elect new mayors in the villages of Jelenec and Vlkanová, in Marianka, Hurbanova Ves, Selce, Ratková, Gemerček and Hontianske Nemcie, as well as in Strihovce and Kračúnovce.

Elections of deputies of the municipal and city councils will take place in Nová Bana, Polianka, as well as in the municipalities of Kovarce, Brezov, Ďurďoš, Veľké Držkovce, Adamovské Kochanovce, Abramová, Ivančiná, Muránska Huta, Budča, Pavľany and Veľká Lodina.

By-elections to the self-government bodies of municipalities are announced in the event that they did not take place in a municipality or if the mandate of a deputy or mayor without an alternate expired. The law also stipulates that elections shall be repeated if they have been declared invalid by the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic.
