Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, concern is still high for Afghan women, Saturday, September 4. In Kabul, some are trying to make themselves heard.
The fate of Afghan women has caused concern since the Taliban took power. A woman, followed by the France Televisions teams, goes out alone in a taxi. A move frowned upon by the new masters of the country. Life seems almost normal in the capital Kabul. The Taliban are barely visible. But the young woman joins friends, among them, activities, feminists, students or artists, who want to be heard against the Taliban.
“We studied for years, the Taliban won’t let us work, we can’t go back“, replied one of them. They all want the international community to take an interest in their fate. Never, when the Taliban first came to power in 1996, a woman was opposed to them. Several dared to go. In contact with the mullahs, verbal battles ensued. The security forces then decided to disperse them with force. Desperate, these women are ready to take risks, rather than die slowly. “The fear is that when the world looks away from Afghanistan, the Taliban will show their true face.“, relates Dorothée Ollieric, in Kabul.
