Vaccine Soberana, Cuba approves use even from 2 to 18 years

Cuba has approved the emergency use of its Soberana 02 vaccine against covid also for the age group between 2 and 18 years. “This permit guarantees the continuation of the national immunization schedule without pause”, tweeted Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, after the go-ahead from the Cuban regulatory body Cecmed. Health authorities announced Thursday that vaccinations for the 2-18 year old group would open tomorrow, to last until November 5. The Cuban authorities intend to inject at least one dose to all vaccinable people by September, to reach 92.6% of the fully immunized population, including children, by the end of November. Cuba has 11.3 million inhabitants and is the only Latin American country to have developed its own vaccines against covid-19.
