BRATISLAVA. Members of the For People party faction are to discuss the future with their supporters in the regions over the weekend as well as next week.
This was stated for TASR by Vladimíra Marcinková (For People), a member of the party’s presidency and member of parliament. She added that they had not yet made a final decision on whether to stay in the party or leave.
On Friday, members of the faction were to meet with other members of the party in Bratislava. “Colleagues go to eastern Slovakia over the weekend. They express their support in the regions, we talk to them as to what to do next. Some want to leave en masse,” Marcinková told TASR, adding that she wanted to adopt a unified position in the faction.
The MEP has already stated that she has received offers from several parties. Together with their colleagues, they do not want to weaken the coalition with their decisions. According to her, joining the SaS club is one of the possible options, but she does not consider it the preferred option.
Other members of the faction also said during the week that all possibilities are open. They want to do everything to ensure that the coalition remains stable and that it can meet the goals, so they are careful in their steps.
Party chairwoman Veronika Remišová recently announced that it would propose to the party presidency to suspend the exercise of the rights of group members around Minister of Justice Maria Pin (For people).
They could not act in the bodies of the party and participate in the activities of the party. Remišová claims that the members of the faction coordinate with competing political parties the action against their own party. Her proposal concerns seven officials. The faction members consider this an indecent way to push them out of the party.
