TOKYO – Slovak boccists advanced to the finals of the doubles competition at PH 2020 in Tokyo and are fighting for gold. Samuel Andrejčík, Michaela Balcová and Martin Strehársky won in the BC4 category in Saturday’s semifinals over the team of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) 5: 2. Hong Kong awaits them in the fight for gold.

The Slovaks thus continue without a loss. They advanced to the semifinals as the winners of the A-group with a 100% balance, when they gradually defeated the Brazilians 7: 3, declassified the Portuguese 10: 1 and did not give the British a chance (8: 0). The pair Andrejčík, Balcová (with substitute Strehárský) lost 2: 3 in the final group match with Canada, but in the last end he managed to turn the situation to 4: 3.

They also made a loss with the Russian selection. After the second end, they lost 1: 2, but the other two won 2: 0 and their fight for the title awaits them.
