MÖNCHENGLADBACH – Slovak football player László Bénes from Borussia Mönchengladbach tested positive for coronavirus. This was confirmed by his Bundesliga employer on Thursday, stating that the player is fully vaccinated.

The 23-year-old midfielder did not train with the team on Wednesday and Thursday, as he had to head into isolation. A member of the wider staff of the Slovak national team has no symptoms of Covid-19, the DPA agency informed. Last Sunday, with his club losing in the 3rd round of the German league at Union Berlin 1: 2, Bénes started in the 84th minute.

Two weeks ago, another Mönchengladbach player, German national defender Matthias Ginter, had a positive test despite being vaccinated.
