Vulgar Sagan, bloody Kelderman. Bora falls like pears – PRAVDA.sk

So far, the Around Benelux races are a big disappointment for the German Bora-Hansgrohe team. Their hopes for overall success vanished after the resignation of Wilc Kelderman.

The Dutch universal, the leader of Bory, longed for the overall standings on the trophy on the domestic standings, but instead ended up in the care of doctors.

After falling in Wednesday’s stage, he suffered a pelvic fracture, a laceration in his left hand and broken ribs. Bory’s management announced today that the injuries will not require surgery for the time being.

What is certain, however, is that Kelderman, the third man of the Gira d’Italia in Lan, will lose his participation in the Antwerp World Championships, which are scheduled for the end of September.

Peter Sagan is not doing well in the Around Benelux yet, although he has already reached the podium today.

The Slovak champion fell in the 1st stage and although he was furious with his opponents, he had to get angry especially for himself due to the collision in the undemanding passage.

Fortunately, Sagan did not suffer any injuries during the fall and continues to race. He was 63rd in Tuesday’s time trial and finished sixth on Wednesday.

In the 4th stage on Thursday, he showed the best performance so far at the event. He actively participated in the spurt and finally finished in fourth place.

The great form was confirmed by the winning Belgian Tim Merlier, who also triumphed in the 1st stage. Danish Mads Pedersen took second place on Thursday, Danny Van Poppel from the Netherlands was third.

The overall lead was maintained by the Swiss Stefan Bissegger.
