The number of daily cases exceeded 170, and the number of infections increased rapidly in the Košice Region – Korzár

EASTERN SLOVAKIA. On Wednesday, laboratories took 3,468 samples for PCR testing, of which 178 were positive, representing 5.13 percent.

There were also 43 positive antigen tests out of the total number of 2,781 examined samples, which represents 1.55 percent.

In the last week, the number has tested positive for delta variant 158 samples out of a total of 160 sequenced. This represents a representation of 98.8 percent.

Victims of covid-19 did not increase again, the total number of deaths from this disease is 12,548. The total number of deaths with covid is 2,457.

Situation in the regions

The number of infected people jumped significantly in the Košice region (95), which thus came in first place in the covid ranking. It is followed by Trenčiansky with 27 new infections and Bratislavský with 16.

The Prešov region finished in fourth place with 14 new cases.

It is followed by Nitriansky (9), Banskobystrický, Trnavský (both 6 each) and Žilinský (5).

Of the districts, the worst situation is in Košice (49) and the Košice-okolie district (18). The districts of Rožňava (15), Prešov (9) and Michalovce (8) report a slightly smaller increase.

From the east, there were more infected in the districts of Trebišov (5), Bardejov (3), Poprad and Vranov nad Topľou (both 1 each).

Thus, 109 positive ones were added in the east.

Vaccination and the condition in hospitals

He received his first dose on Wednesday vaccines 256 people, since the beginning of vaccination it is already 2,383,062 people.

The second dose of the vaccine was given to a total of 2,231,621 people, up from 204 last day.

The number of hospitalized patients did not increase. There are currently 97 patients with confirmed or suspected covid. Of these, 71 are positive.

There are 13 patients in the intensive care units, and four people need artificial lung ventilation.

The total number of inactive cases is 719,649.
