Police had to use tear gas against some of the protesters blocking the roads on Hodžovo náměstí in Bratislava. Some demonstrators are aggressive and swearing at police officers.
There were also clashes between demonstrators and the police. In one of them, the police had to step in self-defense and use diapers or tear gas. However, several hundred demonstrators continue to block roads around Hodž Square for more than an hour.
Police are urging drivers to avoid Hodž Square in Bratislava due to the blockade.
“Shortly after 4.00 pm, the participants of the assembly blocked the road on Hodžovo náměstí and Suchý mýto,” said police asking drivers to use an alternative route to pass.
Columns are beginning to form around Hodž Square. The Bratislava transport company informs that in order to block the road, it had to interrupt the traffic of public transport lines 83, 93, 147, 203, 207 and 212 in the vicinity of the Hodžovo námestie stop.

On the occasion of the Day of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic, several public assemblies are held in the capital. There are protests in Hodž Square in front of the Presidential Palace, in front of the parliament and in Svobody Square. The crowd moved between these places several times.
Public assemblies in Bratislava have so far been handled without major problems. Shortly after 1 p.m., however, police were dealing with the incident with a few protesters in order to maintain a 50-meter safety distance from the parliament building. The intervention was accompanied by skirmishes. Police detained two protesters and took them to the police department.
